The Metallic Gold/Red colorway was inspired by the famous Spanish painter Joan Miro. In 2008, the brand launched the exclusive Jordan VII Retro "Miro" for its Olympic Celebration collection. The design combines a North Carolina Tar Heels-inspired white mesh upper with university blue leather overlays, and an ice blue translucent outsole.
It dropped alongside a Filbert-based colorway in August 2012. Released in April of 2017, the Air Jordan 11 Retro Low ‘UNC’ is based on the 2001 Air Jordan 11 Retro Low ‘Columbia’ that dropped alongside the Air Jordan 11 Retro Low ‘Cherry.’. Underfoot, the shoe features an Obsidian midsole with Natural and Filbert-colored jagged detailing on the sidewalls. This release included the much sought-after Chambray colorway. Air Jordan 7 Retro ‘J2K’ comes with an Obsidian patchwork upper with tonal piping, a Filbert-hued inner bootie and Natural laces. Then, in 2006, another 7 Retro collection launched, with Nike expanding the line to six colorways, adding two LS versions, followed by the reissue of the original Cardinal colorway and an exclusive women's style.
